Welcome

Allow me to welcome you to Math 100 - Elementary Algebra offered by Cosumnes River College. My name is Professor Roy Simpson and I will be your guide on this journey through the beginnings of algebra.

I have tried to design this site to be easy to navigate, but if you have any suggestions please let me know. The menu on the left gives you access to other courses I am currently teaching, general information about me and my teaching ideology, as well as my contact information. The menu on the right is designed to give you a detailed, step-by-step introduction to this course and how it will be presented as well as some advice on how to succeed in this course. Please go through each of these items in the order listed.

Online Classes

After you are done reading through all of this material (as well as the syllabus), sign up for a WebAssign account, and then attend the online orientation in my digital office on one of the given dates and times below. You must do this on one of the days listed or I will drop you from this course. There is no need to let me know which orientation you are going to attend. Just show up in the digital office on one of the given dates and times and I will be there.

A Note on College Policy

It is college policy that you may be dropped from the course for missing more than 6% of the class meetings. Since this is an online course, a "class meeting" will be construed as a homework assignment. Since we will be covering approximately 60 sections, missing more than 3 homework assignments is cause for being dropped from the course.
